On May 17th, the Brunswick County Department of Economic Development along with The Brunswick County Industrial Development Authority and the Metropolitan Business League hosted a workshop at the Brunswick County Conference Center. This workshop is the first in a series that will examine how to write accurate and meaningful business plans. Micah White, Business Development Manager with the Metropolitan Business League was the workshop instructor. He walked the attendees though the Business Model Generation method of writing business plans. This workshop focused on the first three building blocks of writing a business plan: customer segments, value propositions, and channels.
An enthusiastic group of small business owners were in attendance and were very engaged in the discussion. For each segment of the workshop, Mr. White was able to answer questions and direct the business owners through the process of writing the business plans for their businesses. Mr. White shared with the group that he will be in Brunswick County every week at the new Metropolitan Business League office on the second floor of the Brunswick County Conference Center and he encouraged attendees to make one-one-one appointments with him to get personalized assistance and help with fine-tuning their business plans.
Mrs. Alfreda Jarrett Reynolds shared, “I continue to be impressed with our small business and entrepreneurial community. Our members come to these meetings ready to learn and be engaged. They come armed with questions ready to be asked and are so invested in the success of their businesses. These lovely people offer such support and encouragement for each other. Month after month, it is a privilege to observe relationships and partnerships being formed. This initiative is gaining momentum and offering much needed resources and support to our business community and I am enjoying the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
